Description
Pacifico Clara (its full name) is a pilsner that first was
brewed in 1900 when three Germans opened the Cerveceria
del Pacifico brewery in Mazatlan. Cerveza Pacifico means
Pacific Beer and is named so because the Pacifico brewery
is located in the pacific port city of Mazatlán,
in the state of Sinaloa, México. The picture inside
the lifesaver depicts local islands" Las Islas de los
venados"which means the deer islands which have a nice
population of deer. The locals ask for it as a "Pacificoballena"which
means "Pacific Whale". "Clara" means
clear. The Pacifico brewery was bought by Mexican brewing
giant Grupo Modelo in 1954. The Anheuser-Busch company now
owns a little more than half of Grupo Modelo.

BBC » While
in Mexico drink like a local, drink Pacifico (especially
in large bottles in a brown paper bag :).

» Do you know anything about a Anheruser Busch
bottle with F.W. Jessen on it. I think it was made around
1910.
