Introduced in 1954, Blue Star was awarded the Gold Medal
of Leadership in Munich. A popular Newfoundland lager, Blue
Star is aged for smoothness and delivers a full, smooth
body and a slight ester aroma by using unique taste and
aroma characteristics from German Hallertau hops.

Keith from Newfoundland » Good Beer.I have an unopened bottle circa 1972. Its a stubby. Label has a gold trim. Label says, in part, "Awarded Munich 1954 Gold Medal of Leadership" Its the only beer in my eclectic collection of collectables.
